Deb McInteer Memorial

Debra A. (Dean) McInteer

Deb McInteer was a remarkable person. At the age of 67, on February 16, 2025, she was unexpectedly taken from us. But over those years she was a huge blessing to many, many people.

Foremost in Deb’s world was her family. Her 3 kids and her 3 grandkids were everything to her. She absolutely loved it when they were around.

She was so good at loving people. Whether it was her son-in-law deployed to Jordan, people at church, or total strangers she would encounter in her day, she showed them genuine love and compassion.

She truly believed in the power of prayer and it was not unusual to find her huddled up in prayer with somebody. This wasn’t just something that happened in church, it could also happen in the aisle at Meijer or at Chick-fil-A. It was also likely that she was praying with somebody she didn’t know 5 minutes earlier.

She loved her church family at Daybreak Community Church. She loved it when she could participate church service projects like serving at the Hope Center, flood relief in Eastern Kentucky, or food deliveries. She had great compassion for people experiencing tough times.

She especially loved kids. That is why she taught for 30 years. She loved teaching the kids at Head Start in Richmond, the Early Child Care Center in Lexington, and Sayre School in Lexington. But of all the kids that were fortunate enough to be loved and nurtured by her, none got more love than her own kids and grandkids.
